sometimes it helps
revisiting the decades,
specific lovers....
extracting the wisdom teeth,
uncovering a balm
for burning skin
taking a risk with time travel
doing so with trepidation
entering the halls of history
wearing a grateful dead bandana
over my nose and mouth
minimizing the foul stench of open wounds
stirring the razor winds
of ancient turmoil with a melted spatula....
Something has got the Geiger counter needle
bouncing like a kangaroo on meth
and the court of personal opinion
is getting a reading of dangerous re-entry,
the red arrow is dancing with the devil
with the blue dress and stiletto heels....
it's okay to spread the clouds apart
with your bare hands, but you gotta
have an exit strategy.....get in....
get out
for what its worth ( not buffalo springfield )
for what its worth ( not buffalo springfield )
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading

Recovery time is longer when the years have taken there taxes . The poem was interesting to read ,images of a rock concert I went to in a muddy Louisiana backwoods come to mind ,this was just a backwood southern Woodstock ,a crazy time. I find it ever interesting how poems are differnt for differnt readers, your poem did just what it is talking about ,triggering memories of a wild and in some ways dangerous time ,but a very alive time also .Ice and fire bring change,The articulation of this process of remembering was spot on.

The images follow one after the other, the mind boggles deliciously! I needed a wake-up poem, it's a dripping wet day here, news is gross and I am not in a very blithe mood. Thankee kindly, See, I mean Saw -- got it, now will get out! ♥♥
