weedlessness

I refuse to live my life, follow
all the approved mainstream models
that will have me juggling 99 balls
in the air while I tend to every distraction
that would leave me no time for
wonder
is that selfishness or just
an appreciation for opportunity
to ignore the demands from the things
I own that always cry for attention
fuck the flaking paint
on the window sills
I think I'll just place a box of flowers there
metaphorically erasing all my problems, I
could place flower boxes everywhere, cover up
the nagging reminders of eternal work that needs
to be done in every direction I look
to keep up appearances
and would that really be a sin, as my neighbor believes
his perfect estate an example of what real men do
and I hold no malice for his opinions, he has chosen
another path, to ensure all will ooh and aah
when they swoon over his super green weedless lawn
I don't give a rat's ass about my volunteer dandelions
the bees seem to like them

oh yeah - this rings so true!
fuck the dust
the leaves can stay
who's got time
to mow the lawn
or wash the car
when there's life
to be lived?
remember, folks
the work
will always be there tomorrow
but today won't

thanx gents...I'm dead sure no one on their death bed ever says, " I only have one regret in my life,..that I didn't keep a spotless house. "......or a weedless yard....our regrets will be we didn't initiate contact with friends and family and make a special point of telling them how much we love them, and how important they were in our lives

yeah mark, the chemicals people use on their lawns to have no weeds border on insanity...my father used to make me pop all the dandelions out of the yard with this special tool.....he's 91 and to this day is still obsessed with his yard....he's has a huge lawn and gets out on the tractor every 3 days....all that gasoline, all that time....madness
yeah sasha, that one too....about the office...i always felt when someone called someone dedicated for all the hours that they spent at the office, that instead they didn't appreciate the wife and kids they had at home...it's a two-sided coin....sacrifice is the key.....which one do you choose ?
hey walt, haven't heard from you for awhile....it's funny i was thinking about an RV or building one of those mobile small-houses....good luck...let me know how it goes...I'm sick of trying to keep this house from ruin...it was fine in my twenties and thirties even, but screw that now...it's meaningless

o = am laughing because my fears were not that there were weeds in the garden=
but there might not be weed to smoke
i live in oregon
you waltz on it and order up
'purple hindu kush'
a few potheads i know were commenting on the misogystic names of weed
why isnt there a 'patti smith ' weed- or strain- that would make you fall down and not bathe for weeks?
or janis joplin weed
why 'green crack'?
unattractive at best
i know
its funny
to be quiet
all that drama wrinkled in my hands
on my face
not once was i able to trace your face
shapes and shadow
eyes that see beyond
coffee is dessert
teas and yoga
o dunno
ih yeah weedlessness is not for me
