wake up....already tired
read the Baltimore Sun
doze off in current events
feel the full brunt of an excavation
sugarcoating it
does not make it go down any easier
did it really happen
have I been stripped
of some of the original parts
only to NOT be told I'm now bionic
what a fucking bummer man
the same old dude with less stuff
and what about those other parts
they left behind, that brain
that wants to be creative, well
when she isn't doing that, she is
re-programming that old To-Do list
living comfortably in the moments
now...get with the program Body
put on those socks and shoes, take
some baby steps, then
throw that wooden cane into Lake Montebello
maybe the ducks can use it to play hockey
or maybe it will just float way, like the nagging pain
and I will swim like another Baltimore boy, Michael Phelps
shore to shore
and back again
