upon a florentine cracker there stood a shadow
overlooking from a vantage point nearest my elbow
when the shadow moved from out of its shadow
revealing itself to me as a serious loss of reasoning

heartbroken i left the room in search of common sense
but was clueless as to where to find that illusive sense
that many have believed to have found but nothing else
matters as the supererogatory topped a dwarfs largess.

i was at home at last within a dream about cicada heaven

reading this poem
is good exercise for
the buzzing in my ear...
