my dog licks a growing cyst
in the vicinity of his asshole
then he coughs loudly
- everybody in the world
in the same boat -

You're welcome, Jack, wouldn't want you or anyone I cared about to become enthralled by flowery memories or the current state of things worldwide - sometimes you have to go BOOM ! just to keep the pipes from clogging up - I see you still on the bike, me too, got attacked by a zealous dog a month ago now - he rammed me & my bike, the fall knocked me unconscious - I came to in the gravel on the side of the road, no dog in sight - didn't know where I was or even who I was - got a concussion out of the deal, badly bruised ribs and a torn joint in my shoulder that has yet to heal - I'm thinking differently about bike helmets these days - also checked up on mace, pepper spray - favoring the bear spray I've read about - no dog gonna get the chance to do this to me ever again and I want to leave a solid impression in their doggy dog mind about what a fuck story a rider on a bike can be -

Them dogs are out to get me, I see them a standing in the middle of the road, as I approach they scatter, then when I am closer they come back at me from all directions.
I have become a dog talker, looking for that SHAZAM© word that will make them back-off. So far I found a shouted "NO!" works sometimes. Sometimes I shout "Heyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh". As loud as I can.
I used to have a boat horn taped to the handle bars, that startled them pretty good. Looked so stupid I took it off. I guess I need to put it back, I been wearing a helmet these days, got one that is light and cool. Cost me a hundred and fifty bucks but worth it I think.
Some dogs are so sweet they just run along side some others just watch me go by. "Good dog good dog" I say.
I found a really bright light throws them off sometimes, I got 700 lumens on helmet and about 4000 lumens on the handle bars. I ride the back roads at night.

YELLING ANY COMMANDS can throw a dog off enough to buy you some time....when I was taken by surprise when I was carrying the old mail satchel I'd always yell , SiT !!!........AND POINT
at them like I was their owner.....surprisingly it usually worked...at least initially to give me time for pepper spray
I'm walking now....every day.....mace gun in pocket, and heavy walking stick in hand
and in the city , that's more for the two legged dogs than the four....what a world....a man can't take a peaceful walk without lookin' over his shoulder.....honestly, I stopped being afraid awhile back....refuse to stay in the house 'cause some punks might be on the prowl....or some wild dogs....when it comes right down to it though....dying on a wooded path wouldn't be too bad....but if that does happen, I plan to take a few with me....nothing like an angry old man with nothing to lose.....was talking to some retired african american gent the other day in the park...and he told me you can never act afraid no matter what....he said he was at the convenience store the other night and when he came out two punks said to him, Hey old man ,whatcha got in that bag ?....guess what his reply was ?
You're death certificate........he said they just walked away....ha ha...chalk one up for the geezer

Just one more thing.
The big Rottweiler came charging at me.
I hollered
"SIT!"
when I looked back he was sitting in the middle of the road
Thanks SAW
