under the poet
is everything that we have
been warned about
there is the gray dove
there is the unknown stars
above, down below
the poet is the idle, rude
is the desolate life liver
you might find the poet
under a bridge, or under a
freeway
the poet is a giver of hurt
or a giver of the shirt
off their back
under the poet is an image
of a devil or a cat of black
the outcast, the misfit, rebel
the poet carries a lucky pebble
is a writer of lurid secrets
a bus rider at midnight
a drunk in the whiskey rain
looks at the gutter for salvation
is always giving a resignation
to the world of the normal
knows the lunatics run the nut house
never believed in Mickey Mouse
is the reader of forbidden books
in libraries or on park benches
under the poet flows
the deadly ink flowers
of a soul that got lost
in the mad crowd
of words, for better or worse

Just got in from a good hard ride on my tadpole trike lots of hill climbs and down hill runs ,lots of fun! read the poem and fell right in ,this poets been in the wind just loving to roll .Poets are each their own voice I am enjoying reading your work
