ice for my tormented shoulder,
a few irregular cubes in my stiff manhattan
Frozen Water is a perk
of the affluent

a creature comfort
for the civilized man that has everything,
and not a half bad band name come to think of it.
I don't need more neckties

my underwear is fine and yellow
I pay the electric bill,
dream scenario for the king
of the block

I numb my swelling joints,
I quench my thirst
for another month and just before
the-first is upon me again

I pray the Iceman cometh
or at least a surrogate like Eugene O'Neill
or better yet, how about Harry Hope,
the proprietor of the saloon

'cause
he had a propensity
to give away some free drinks....
to the down and out

Many blessing will come to him! Harry hope is always the last angel to be left standing as the day breaks over the unloved poets who have no remorse ,nor a thin dime between them.I always appreciated a good piece of ice ,when the weather was hot . The title of the poem is in neon above the door , so let us have one on the house ,poet.

I love a good Manhattan. Had three of them a couple of weeks ago. Was lost for the evening.
