this young woman
on tv
the long-ago child
who chased kitty
with her fisher-price choo-choo
who cached her easter candy
where we could not find it
who caught frogs with me
at the vernal pool next door
who built lincoln log houses
on warm rainy days
for the efts she'd collect from the woods
this young woman
on tv
at the kennedy center
presenting her proposal
for the national mall...
was it really
she?

same kid
different dimension
no stopping now

Boy, ain't that the truth - at least I hope it is! She seemed so poised on TV, I caught just the barest tremble in her voice....
