Can you remember a time
when you didn’t exist
and even when you did,
nothing made sense?
Not the rub of her bare arm
after undressing her,
how you held all her secrets
in your hands,
not the funny way she tilted her head,
lips down.
Nor the way she touched your face
for the last time.

Re: It Was Snowing When You Looked Outside
Only we know our own heartache
Though the pain for others is the same
But only we know what it'll take
To drive us completely insane.
So now we must look the part
In order to survive the night
Time to take back our hearts
And fight to find our own light.
For we need not someone to hold
If only to feel "good" once again
Our story is ours to be told
And we must know we have light within.
So take that memory
Put it on the pyre
Allow yourself to be free
And watch the pain burn in the fire.
Though the pain for others is the same
But only we know what it'll take
To drive us completely insane.
So now we must look the part
In order to survive the night
Time to take back our hearts
And fight to find our own light.
For we need not someone to hold
If only to feel "good" once again
Our story is ours to be told
And we must know we have light within.
So take that memory
Put it on the pyre
Allow yourself to be free
And watch the pain burn in the fire.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.

love the simplicity that leaves the reader wondering a bit....the economy in how you created so much depth...
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
