October Night

Post by Tjflowers80 » October 6th, 2016, 8:43 pm

Oh October night
Perfect breeze blowing in
Perfect sunset light
Leaving calm within.

Slow long drive
To make my heart mine
Looking to do more than just survive
As I seek the heartbeat in time.

As a turtle crawls, colors slowly turn
Slight autumn arrives in hues
Yellows of gold and reds of fires burn
A slight twinge in my heart leaves me a little blue.

Each day closer the breath of winters cold
Each day further than the one before
Each day leaving me in the hope of lovesick hold
Each day bringing more fire to my soul.

Slowly creeps the autumn winds
Blowing gently throughout the rolling hills
Changing the landscape on each historic bend
And I watch the world stand still.

I breathe in deep
Shed a tear or two
Knowing the secret I keep
Never knowing what to do.

This is what has come to pass
Sitting here with time on my mind
Longing for a lifestyle to last
And knowing everything else I will find.

But for now Perfect breeze blows in
With a Beautiful sunset light
Leaving calm within
On this October night.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.

Something about the way you describe your feelings connected with nature
reminds me of when I was a child or a teenager, when things seemed wide open.
And yet there is an awareness that floats in a sense of loneliness and timelessness
that wafts through the beauty of the change of season. Nicely written.

Thank you.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.
