poetry will introduce you to the great leveling
it allows you to question everything you have been told
this is the real power of poetry
but it is not enough to merely question
but to see that in the process of questioning
you find through the action of the poem
a way of finding completely different discoveries
in the adventure of writing the poem

in the course of inventing your imagination
while going deeply into the divine of the mind
into the unconscious where the words surface
from the play of the universe, the stars
blowing trough the void, it's quiet
then you hear the sound of words
without attaching meaning
but with seeing that which means something

at this point we arrive at a place where meaning divides
and there is no one possible way to see that which becomes
more then one but not less then one, which was the invention
of zero, in this sense zero is not less but more
this is the more of the poem

the novelty bifurcates, we arrive at where we came in
so long ago. at the far end of a long narrative that laughs
when we chose one word over another, a poem within
a poem within a poem ad infinitum

Some of my writing has started this way-- hearing a phrase, the sound of its words, for a moment completely unattached to anything specific, followed maybe by other thoughts or images that seem to ride in on the same "wave"...

And zero was quite an invention. Does it really exist? ...

Does mass even exist, or zero mass, poetry is not a science but i think inventions often come in the wake of something poetic. And do I know what I am talking about. No, but you have to start somewhere, play on the word zero. But the sign for a zero is a circle, so, so what is less then zero, its kinda where you begin when you think about writing a poem. Come to think of it a ufo could be a kind of zero. I guess the zero was invented by some Arab, I wonder what they had before zero. Because it must have been known before it was rediscovered or something. I'm only interested in the word, and how to use it in a poem. Is an oh O not zero like? A one and a zero does not seem like such a good thing, I mean in the poetic sense.

I never stopped writing since I started, I just remember what the world was like before computers, the writing came slower, but the process was different, but how do you talk about what the was like before the internet, for those of us who lived in that different time.
It is like that time did not exist now, so strange. It is like imagining Kerouac writing on a computer, or Hemingway, or Henry Miller, or any of the poets I admired. Anyway, thanks for the comment.

For this tide, here and now my heart beats,
I leave my breath within the wind
Longing for a familiar rhythm with no rhyme.

This is brilliant. I want to hang it on my wall. Thank you for this, a relaxing un rhyming flow for the end of this stressful and horrible day.
