Jimi was right

Post by saw » October 27th, 2016, 11:09 am

tell me how I can
express enough appreciation
in the richness of a single minute
of un-poisoned time here on earth

here in this way-off Broadway play
this ultra-noir episode
this biography of a mere man
a dot among zillions

stars, the pulsating mirrors
the kinship with my planets
brothers and sisters of the mighty sequoia
the family that drives the sedan through the redwood's vagina

we are linked like infinite chains
the wandering DNA around the bend in the river
over the falls from grace
blood and water thick as a brick

we cannot hide in stone buildings
turn our backs to the sun
like she was a distant forgotten relative
you gotta pay the the neo-reaper

the monkey don't grind for nuthin'
and the Jack won't stay in the box
go on....hug a weeping willow
remember Jimi's words...."scuse me
while I kiss the sky."
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Nice poem, enjoyed the flow, and it's always interesting how Jimi's words still resonate.
I always wonder what he might have done if he had not been murdered.

steve, a rich wander through the thick and the thin of it.
and how right you are, the 'excuse me kiss' is the most legitimate time-out ever uttered.

A fine poem about Jimi.

I was watching a movie about him last night and was remembering this poem while I watched it because I had just read it yesterday. Interesting how life works. There's a poem about Jimi and I read it and also read RR's comment about him being murdered. Then later that night, I turn on the TV and there's a movie which was a documentary primarily dealing with how he died.

They DID state the the theory that he had been murdered. But the toxicologist was interviewed several times in the movie and there was no evidence of foul play. The evidence points to the fact that he was drinking heavily that day, also took a strong amphetimine (a Black something or other... I thought of Black Beauties from back in the day but it was a different name). Then at 4am, he took several strong barbituates (a name I don't remember), an amount exceding the dosage. It was prescribed to one of his girlfriends, the one who he was with that night, for sleep. They didn't think he overdosed deliberately. Anyway, the conclusion was that he died from polydrug intoxication; the combination of the alcohol, amphetamine, and barbituate was too much for his body to handle. I had always heard it was a heroin overdose, but there was no heroin in his system.

I thought some of you may find this interesting.

Jimi was a great guitarist and quite an interesting character. He loved the ladies. And they loved him, too, I'm sure you can imagine. After all he was a sexy, talented, wealthy rock star! :)

OK, I think I've typed too much. Again, I liked your poem and it brought back memories from the era as well as memories from just a few months ago as Michael and I regularly listened to a LOT of music from the 60s and we love Hendrix.

So, now that I typed too much and my fingers are tired, excuse me while I kiss the sky.

Jimi's manager was an underworld character and had worked with the English intelligence, Jimi wanted to go his own way, he had been given downer pills by the woman he was hanging out with, he really did not know her that well, the paramedics and or a doctor found alcohol, wine in his lungs. Which means that wine was poured down his throat probably after he passed out from the pills.I read a book by Eric Burdon and he was good friends with Jimi, and he talked about what happened around the situation of Jimi's death. Eric knew Jimi's manager and talked about his background, the manager was a very dangerous person indeed. A lot of deaths of music people and actors are very suspect. Brian Jones, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain ,Michael Jackson, Prince. To name a few. Record companies are not nice people and neither is Hollywood, it's all connected to the shadow government. Jimi Hendrix was a very interesting case, he had been in the paratroops, and his genius for guitar he claimed was like something that came to him, he also was interested in ufo's, he was a kind of phenomenon. IF Jimi had stayed alive he might have done something truly revolutionary.Notice that Bob Dylan is still alive, he really backed off of his anti-establishment stance very early on. If you think John Lennon was killed by a lone nut, then you probably also think Kennedy was.George Harrison was stabbed in the chest by a supposed nut, and not long after that he got cancer. You never hear anything about about the nut that stabbed him.
