The Letters Never Read

The paper before me
The books that hold more
The letters he my never see
For fear of rejection at my door.

Both old and new
Loves hold reborn
My heart at sight askew
And dreams before the dawning morn.

Sunrises, sunsets and starry nights
Together we've watched so many
Each time my heart soars with unending light
From me and my own it's so uncanny.

And so here is the paper and pen before me
My hand writes the words from my heart
Speaking the truth that radiates with each memory
Each time leaving me thinking that this is the start.

But after all is said and done
I'm left with the unspoken rhyme
In remembrance of light that is warmer than sun
And the deep wanton desire for more of his time.

So the words on paper are played and never said
And I speak in unresound truth, and promise never broken
How I love him stays in letters unread
And in the words left unspoken.
