Thx, Veronica - checked out the link you posted. Thanks. Kind of frightening up here, so many people around me talk of democracy. It's a word I hear 50 times a day. Even from people who should know better. The framers of the Constitution rejected democracy and did everything that could to ensure that it would not happen. They founded a Republic, not a democracy. The two words are not the same nor are they interchangeable. Yet I can't remember the last time I heard the word Republic in reference to the United States in either intelligent or unintelligent conversation much less discourse. We got two kinds of fascists up here, left-wing fascists & right-wing fascists and both of them just love love love that word "democracy" -
statistically I have but a few years left in this world and I'm thinking that might not be a bad thing.

Yes, a quasi-fascist Republic. Not nearly as bad as others of course, but, uh, you know, trending that way... It's a Republic, dammit. It's even in the Pledge of Allegiance, all you dumbasses.

I wouldn't be too rough on the scruffy legions of political babblers though-- they've been egged on for a long time by their buzz-word talk show megaphone-mouths, and by the politicos themselves, and all their fifty-dollar phrases and high and righteous rhetoric about "democracy" and "freedom" so liberally filling their speeches since long ago...
