the average person
has 9,547 moving parts
I made that up.... to emphasize
our complexity
my brain can scan you
with max capacity to decipher
your cybernality, but my mind blows up
analyzing the intricacies
of your avatar's eyebrow
and so we live alone behind a screen
where one needn't bother with social skills,
in our customized biosphere of computer lighting
where everything is safe and perfect
in the end electronic-only relationships
strip our humanity not unlike piranhas
isolation is being manufactured by the googlemeister oz
newbies make too many excuses
why they can't come for a visit
if you forget about human touch
face to face conversation, and you toss out
a long warm hug and a sweet smile
all that is left is a perverted eden

The internet has given us a source for information, and a way to exchange it, that is good but
the powers that still are, are always thinking of ways to use technology against us.If trurh be told they want to make us into robots. I always thought poetry was better when you had to go see real live poets read. Thank you for writing.

Who are you? Mr. Message-Board Shit-Stirrer Critic suddenly, coming after responses?
Hmmph...
Yeah, well I'm still working it out, to answer your question.

I was curious. As for stirring shit, well, it should be stirred, otherwise it just sits around i growing piles stink to high heaven. Stirring it speeds it's break down and facilitates its decay cleaning everything up faster. Ya gotta admit there's plenty of shit needs workin' - I mean, according to Craig here someone is trying to turn me into a robot, something 'bout evil on the 'net so That's something I might want to know something about.

Not so much farmer. More a cultivator.

Is eye rolling a technological or more a socio-political gesture ? Anyways, you attributed evil to unnamed entities that want us as ro-ro-robots. Merit or pushing mere not-even-lukewarm paranoia ?

and fuck what had that to do with saw's end verse where he presents the result of a perverted eden directly attributable to the reasons he stated ?

As a poet, writing something that starts a healthy passionate discourse is always a good thing
this poem to me is about isolationism, particularly among the younger folks who are virtually never detached from cyberspace....my daughter was telling me that none of her peers can make a commitment to anything....they'd rather hold out for some imaginary event that may be more exciting than the one you were invited to attend....and in the end ironically the next day she finds out they stayed home alone....I personally have witnessed many times 4 people that have gone to dinner together that are all looking with great intensity at their phones...they aren't conversing at all....they aren't making eye contact, laughing, being....well, human....therein lies the robot perhaps as was suggested in the discussion above....I worry that due to the nature of unlimited entertainment at a fingertip, humans will avoid real contact they deem can't possibly be as satisfying as minute to minute electronic drugs...and...i do see it as an addiction.....it looks and feels the same to me....I'm certainly not a Luddite...after all, here I am...speaking in electronica to you all

Yes. You can essentially be "assimilated/consumed by the Machine" without literally being turned into a robot-cyborg sorta being, sprouting wires like Picard after the Borg got him. Of course you can.
If the Screen, the goddamn SCREEN dominates your every fiber of being and movement then, well ...
And watch out for that Digital Exhaust too. God knows how much dirt THEY have on all of us by now...
