We finally did it,
elected a reality-TV caricature.
I knew those shows were bad news.

We finally did it,
elected a leader not about "we,"
maybe there never was a "we."

Maybe there never was a we
but there sure was a them

but we the people still sounds right

And Ronald Raygun was a crappy movie star
so now enter the TV host money man
with a bad tan and fake news hair
they say he isn't a politician
but if he was going to drain the swamp
there would be none of those varmints left

like Frank Zappa said...their Varmints

And we can't just vote him off the island either...
We'll see...

There is a great book by Chris Hedges, Empire of Illusion....subtitled the End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle.....perhaps we should re-subtitle it The Trump of Spectacle
