From "The Guardian"--- Four more journalists have been charged with felonies after being arrested while covering the unrest around Donald Trump’s inauguration. At least six media workers are facing a $25,000 fine or prison if convicted. A documentary producer, a photojournalist, a live-streamer and a freelance reporter were each charged with the most serious level of offense under Washington DC’s law against rioting, after being caught up in the police action against demonstrators.
Jack Keller, a producer for the web documentary series Story of America, said that he was detained for about 36 hours after being kettled by police at 12th and L streets on Friday morning and then arrested despite telling officers that he was covering the demonstrations as a journalist. Trump moved quickly to ban agencies from providing updates on social media or to reporters.
Also arrested while covering the demonstrations at 12th and L streets were Shay Horse, an independent photojournalist and activist, and Aaron Cantú, a freelance journalist and activist, who has written for outlets including the Baffler, the Washington Spectator and the New Inquiry. Both deny wrongdoing.
The National Lawyers’ Guild accused Washington DC’s metropolitan police department of having “indiscriminately targeted people for arrest en masse based on location alone” and said they unlawfully used teargas and other weapons. “These illegal acts are clearly designed to chill the speech of protesters engaging in First Amendment activity,” Maggie Ellinger-Locke, of the guild’s DC branch, said in a statement.
None of the arrest reports for the six journalists makes any specific allegations about what any of them are supposed to have done wrong. Keller’s report, which also covers the arrests of an unknown number of unidentified other people, includes a note that a police vehicle was vandalized. “I had absolutely nothing to do with the vandalism,” said Keller.

Okay yeah, but who the fuck is "The Guardian?"
The Guardian is a British national daily newspaper, known from 1821 to 1959 as the Manchester Guardian. Along with its sister papers The Observer and The Guardian Weekly, The Guardian is part of the Guardian Media Group, owned by The Scott Trust Limited. The Trust was created in 1936 "to secure the financial and editorial independence of The Guardian in perpetuity and to safeguard the journalistic freedom and liberal values of The Guardian free from commercial or political interference."
Wow, imagine that.

exercise your constitutional right to dissent

This was one of the "rotating stories" that flashed across the msn screen yesterday. And btw, this trend goes beyond the current clown show running things (remember what happened five years ago, the last time people tried to gather and demonstrate peacefully-- it got pretty ugly).

I want to say "I hope cooler heads prevail," but somehow that seems absurdly inadequate to express anything close to getting at the heart of it all..

One word, provocateurs, why are they so afraid of people practicing freedom of speech. Why are demonstrations now funded by an evil man. So how can a protest be free of funding that
uses it to create division, and not unity.

I have to confess, I'm ignorant of these "funded demonstrations" of which you speak. (Really?) But then, I find myself increasingly trying to not watch "The News," so I guess that makes me stupid sometimes..

George Soros , from what I been reading on alternate sites, is funding these different groups to create chaos, like black lives matter, the thing is that a lot of these young people don't even know what they are demonstrating against, this Soros is a very nasty character to say the least. I am sure that there are people out there that know why they want to protest, but if they are surrounded by payed useful idiots then what is really going on. Contrast that with the protests at the Dakota pipeline which has gotten world attention. The Indians and others that came to support them know what they are protesting, defending their right to have clean water. I understand why people might not like Trump, but why did democrats want Hillery, she is a war monger for starters, what happened to the democrats, Kennedy was one.
