is it a sign that people are waking up
that 1984 the novel is suddenly very
popular in 2017, what does it mean

... ever more controversial, the "war is peace, freedom is slavery and ignorance is strength," but that's kind of what we went with.

What I meant to say was, as a child of the times, when I was growing up I remember a recurring Nixon soundbite (before they went instant) . . . "Peace through strength" (war-making ability). It made sense to my child-mind, but oh those weapons, the guns on those old warships..

I remember having to read 1984 for an English class in high school, I had too write some kind of essay, I remembering comparing big brother to television, the teacher said but you can turn the television off, maybe you can turn it off but can you turn off news speak. It is like that excuse for preparing for war. Einstein said that you can't prepare for war and end war at the same time. He also said that you can't solve a problem by using the same problem. 1984 and Animal Farm were revealing works but Orwell belonged to what was called the Fabian society as did Aldous Huxley .
