let the poem come through

poetry is an opening to the infinite
I always thought you had to find
the poetic in the most mundane
not to dwell on that
but to see the elements in the concrete
like looking for a talisman in the garbage heap
poetry is more then its words, it is a way
we let the words come from nature
and the material breaks down and speaks
poetry is part of the world, it is a voice
in the wind through the holy trees
it finds itself in the places the poets experience
listen to the birds, hear the running water
through the street of existence
read the sacred texts and read the cheap dime novels
you can find the best poetry in the forgotten writing
of some lunatic writer left in a notebook
that you find in the basement of the asylum
all that matters is the truth you see in the most painful
revelations of the lone wandering soul, the lone poet
the lost writer in the labyrinth of the language
I always thought you had to find
the poetic in the most mundane
not to dwell on that
but to see the elements in the concrete
like looking for a talisman in the garbage heap
poetry is more then its words, it is a way
we let the words come from nature
