forty thousand headmen said Stevie,
couldn't make me change my mind,
the rock in my blood makes me tough...
cheap-steak tough, die-hard tough
and ain't no one gonna stop this thirst for more
I'm an armchair-geezer-archeologist
lookin' for granite hand prints, stencils
of musical ancestors resting in limestone caves
El Castillo, or east of Borneo, Queensland
Why ?....Why leave something behind ?
has man always had this primitive desire
to touch the future with his art
the yin, the yang, the right-as-rain plurality
Fighting the Bear, Eating the Bear, then
Drawing the bear.....we came to town
as big bang storytellers....and it can't be bred out
I'm digging my music tonight....there's Traffic
in my living room...and I'm really living,
doing what I'm supposed to do in the room
that calls itself The Living Room, the dude abides
Don't you see..?.....they had to call it rock
couldn't make me change my mind,
the rock in my blood makes me tough...
cheap-steak tough, die-hard tough
and ain't no one gonna stop this thirst for more
