I read this author on the internet that said that western religions
actually originated from India, where they say, "not this not that"
I guess that is where we got neither here or there.

That would be a surprise to me. To me, "western" religion seems mostly about getting from here to there, while "eastern" religion is more about being there already.
I'd like to read that author's thoughts..
