foolish heart

tremors of time
cream along the earthquake
full of ripples
he shows me a wrinkled photograph

spider veins of moments
years of squiggly lines in and out of the heart
road-maps without X's
in the shadows of my dark eyes

I can't go back, I can't move forward
but I can love the shit out of the middle
with everything I got
living in the sunshine of only today

and it ain't so bad, no it's pretty fucking great
absorbing this very moment
like that very first sip of columbian
after the aroma of a dark-roasted dream

that first glimpse
of the morning sun pushing its face
out of the ocean, gives even a jerk like me
hope enough for a foolish heart

I hear there's a great view from the watchtower
the house of the rising sun
winks and nods fall away
as the clouds move to the side

been tweaking this one this morning
it's funny sometimes to go back and try to grasp
what came to you as a stream of consciousness

how does something hold up under fresh scrutiny

damn if I know

It's a fool's world, and anything other than today, a fools chase.

I was trashing around in the archives looking for posts to do with "spider love/spider woman" when I found this gem 8)

it's funny sometimes to go back and try to grasp
what came to you as a stream of consciousness
When the past comes into my stream of conscious
I become spastic in time
Just now I saw myself in a movie about spider love,
the movie was first filmed in and around Silver Springs Maryland in 1972,
the version I was watching today was a newly released director's cut edition.
I saw myself as a foolish heart redeemed

this is either synchronicity or idiosyncrasy
