Sloganworld

Warning: God-poem cliche alert.

God was in a billboard,
peeling twenties in rolling dust.
God was a loud red slogan.
He wanted me, like rust.

I drifted in and out of Sloganworld,
through explosions and big trucks,
through its living dead euphoria,
just a cactus on the rock.

like Johnny Cash said....I've been everywhere Man....LSD was great for seeing all the molecules and understanding all life as interconnected and complicated in all those beautiful ways....god is everywhere Man

Thx saw. Are there any places left to go where there isn't some constant sales pitch in your face?...

for the most part, the woods is pretty safe...which is why I basically live there....plenty of godly scenery without the ads....heading there in an hour to experience the eclipse....won't even look up....anxious to see how the animals react...

Yes, the woods. And the desert too. Although those billboards on the way out to Red's Camp pissed me off...

I drifted through big screen jungles
flashing, screaming, eternal come on,
the culture on crack, the darting eyes,
from steel and glass deserts into the
Arizona glow but lo, an apparition,
God trapped in a wrinkled billboard,
the Marlboro man, a plastic surgeon,
peeling off twenties in rolling dust,
tattered yet still a loud red slogan,
and he wanted me like the dust.
