another poem from the repair shop

thirsty traveler
whips out an abe from his wallet
chained to his belt ...he buys a coca cola zero
aptly named I think....zero nutrition

and so I wonder why people
willingly poison themselves with rust remover
then I notice the machine has no water
so I surmise this man is very desperate

so I slowly back away
believing he could flip out any second
main-lining this sugary chemical goop
his face seems to distort

he kills the can, crushes it
like a cockroach crawling across the floor
throws it angrily across the room
into a waiting wire-mesh receptacle

three pointer !
he looks very pleased with himself
so I take a long slow breath of relief,

Then sugar takes effect. The poem digests a few moments of reality quiet clearly, transporting a few of my thinking moments to another place and time ,most effectively

You might have hit on the ultimate useless product. No way I'd ever need it in a million lifetimes yet there it is, so dark brown and maybe not so sugary..
And I have sampled it.

quite so satisfying
