Incongruent

INCONGRENT

Do you see the light shining?
Just over there
A place between here
Where we stand, and there
Where we stood
Where we cannot be
But wish we could.

The mirror reflects many things
A smile
A sly come hither look
Questioning stares inside
And out.

Fingers locked in hair
Frustrations outlet
The temperamental tantrums
Of protection and suspicion
The what if’s and wherewithal’s,
A heart captured in amber
A heart captured in stone

The mirror reflects many things
A frown
The creases of times curse
Recognition of lost youth
And immunity

A candle left in the window sill
A distant longing
For what was lost, but not lost
For what was close, but so far away
If you touch the flame, it will burn
Do you see the light shining?
A mirror reflects everything.

humans by nature seem to always wonder about whether there is more, an never-ending existential angst we carry that sort of gives us a contrast to contentment...and if we are lucky ends up clearing up for us the difference between ennui and a knowing peace of mind....enjoyed
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
