Snow

Post by Ann Bingham » September 20th, 2017, 7:50 pm

SNOW

Crystals drifting aimlessly, purposefully
An obscure vision of a clearer dream
In purity, they cover doubts imperfections
A layer of comfort unaffordable to the heart
..........Could they be so easy to look past?

Individuals uniting for one purpose
Dreamlike state of imperfections and impurities
Covered only by the pasts warm afterglow
Shivering for want of a spring thaw
..........Could it be that easy to look back?

Evergreens standing strong against frozen vapor
Unrelenting in stature and structure
Shielding fairies of timeless change
Only to succumb to their persistent gathering
..........Would it be that easy to give in?

With each intervening pause in the show
There is the realization that time is moving forward
Ever forward,
.....Constantly forward,
..........Unforgivably forward.

The dance begins, and ends, and begins again
Each drifting in opposite directions landing parallel
In conjunction with the ever-changing landscape
Created at just the right moment and temperature
..........Could it be that easy to recreate beauty?

Obscurity is merely a figment of imagination
Uncertainty a figment of change
Change as constant as time
A blanket to wrap in, snug
..........Could it be that easy to freeze a moment?

The snow falls, winters alive
Burying falls dead embrace
Purity in white hibernation
Looking through the crystals of ages past
..........Would it be that easy to step in?

With each flake that falls there is the realization
We are merely objects in the landscape of change.
The dream has changed,
.....Life has changed,
..........Everything has changed.

Yes!
Beautiful
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

I was watching the snow one morning, it was so beautiful. Also, that is the winter I was re-united with an old flame. As we reminisced we realized how much alike our lives were. Time is ever moving forward, though both of us have thought about going back, logic prevails.

Thanks for taking the time.

I've never understood logic. 8)
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
