Footlights on a Housetop

backsliding into paradise -
eat me a cadillac when i get there
flies around my coffee cup
dreams going horseback
I'm a sharecropper on a spacewalk
a real lifetime upstart
my bookshelf a waterfall
of comeback motherhood
I say, ""What you looking at, you & your bone ?
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
