I'm going "down the ocean"
they say in these parts, and so
we headed down to this weathered cottage
long since torn down for concrete condos
when you slipped out of your clothes
to put on your bikini I could hardly believe
my eyes....i had always been taught the fantasy
was better than the reality....boy was I wrong
I had known you from afar, and I did have
plenty of fantasies, but damn, this was real
and what a week it was, you and me and the ocean
undulating in salty brine snapshots
you were this exotic seahorse from a trilogy novel......
I remember you suggesting we go to town one drizzly morn
to see Purple Rain, and I was more immersed
in your dark theater expressions of wonder
the profile of your face so neon chic
as you succumbed to the prince on the screen
and you were as high as a kitty hawk kite
as we walked out into the wet overcast light
and I knew
we'd go back to Pepper's Cottage's
and consummate
some summer movie rapture

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading

memories of a certain hazel-eyed redhead..... gorgeous cheekbones (and a bum to die for).... our laughter, the touching, the pas de deux of passion to come... thanks for bringing it alive again!
