Blow it out your ass, bomb bastards.
We got bigger theaters to engage,
at least some sorta half-hearted
attempt to save the rock.
BOOM! five line POME.

I figure we at least should make some sort of credible effort to care, but that seems to be getting thinner and thinner.. Not that I have an impeccable record of caring or anything like that, just trying to break the code..

I think average joe recognizes "reality"....pain is pain....but there lives this segment that has disassociated itself from irrefutable facts to defend
"leaders" despite their obvious flaws and loyalty to the 1% crowd....because of this we have "ended" up with an army of science deniers in positions of supreme power....As you suggest....all the other distractions are moot if we kill mama earth....duh

Hell of a report! If hu'manity is unable to help Mother Earth (Gaia), it may have to destroy the problem in order to save itself. That's something Earth has been doing successfully far, far longer than any form of hu'manity was on this planet.
With a current 7.6 BILLION people and growing have no choice but to exist in any way we can. To hell with anything we are able to destroy to save our asses. Survival is at the heart of any living thing, being not. And we are not an exception. Our belief systems, our hopes and dreams, our prayers and gods are not able to save a planet that is and continues being stripped of it's wildlife, it's virgin and healthy soils, it poisoned waters and skies and even it oceans afloat in plastics, trash and toxic pollutants.
Are we fucked? Probably not in our lifetimes. But the next 2 maybe 3 generations may be suffering all that our super egos have convinced us hu'mans that we were the smartest and best life had to offer. Ego is a tough thing to dismiss but in the end ego is but another fragile dream that got us only so far before it's promises peter out, dying a slow death on our Tree of Life.
But to give up is to rush death and as said above, survival is the most powerful instinct we (and all of life), have. We live on hope, faith and dreams that evaporate from time to time, but they always seem to come around in our worst of times.

For the faint of heart you may want to pass on this. Skeptics and naysayers are repelled by articles like this.

We just can't, or won't take any of this sort of thing even remotely seriously. Ego issues I guess.

...or a fear factor that the collective "we" may see the end of the world (as we know it), so radical a change may be on the horizon as to leave most in confusion.
I'd rather a scenario that "we" settle on a unanimous agree upon solution and learn to live in some resemblance of "peace".

Well, one way to look at it is, if we are constantly fighting each other (and sucking up ever greater resources of material and mind to do so), then how will we begin to recognize when the rock is nearing depletion? Common sense, right?
...Oh but I would easily scoop up that Mopar 440 droptop at eight gallons per mile if I could afford it of course. That goes without saying. Man those were no-nonsense industrial slab-cut lines on a car, just slab-cut great...
