On Being Slave: One Advantage of Belonging to a King

Post by the mingo » November 17th, 2017, 9:11 am

Reality says to me: "I am Death, you are dust, I will bury you"

I laugh, I say:
"Is that all you've got ?"
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Being fortunate to have been born into a democratic culture I second the first two posts in this thread.

Any day now I will break on through to the other side till then I am not dangerous. Lord help me Jesus I know what I am.

I admire you all. You are heroes to me. I am an old man and a greedy child. A deer in the headlights of my own mortality

Will not do that slave thing baby bay even if I want something so badly
I just can’t do it
Tried so many times to play the sober version of Janis Joplin’s - but I always wake up to the reality
That I cannot sing
And barely stay sober
Now they make - sativa packs of ciagettes
My dream has come true and I have c o p d
It’s just beautiful the whole drama
Dreaming of being a deer in a field chewing grass
And it was stuck on the roof of my mouth
Like peanut butter
Deer dreams
So I think about telling you of where I live
Shadow mountain is in the West
Close - the sun ducks behind around 5
It’s winter
There are old people everywhere in palm desert
You almost have to smoke weed to cultivate patience
I’m watching all the houses light up with Christmas
The lights are amazing
I want to put a sled hanging from the tree- like Santa crashed here
But I’m taking a train to see my father
I am sure that this will be the last time I see him
All of his wives have been his mother
I am his only daughter
The wives ask-
When are you leaving?
The 26th
Geez
I have never been there
Think they are a bit strange
That’s why I’m taking a train
Wish I had Valium heroin and any other fucking thing I could get my hands on

But then I would probably not go at all
Drool in the corner while Christmas rolls by
Ya know I dunno how to be a fucking daughter or a wife
I just have to say
I’m not a slave to Christmas or bullshit
Needing this time with my father is dangerous
Because well- ya know- as soon as you need a human being- it’s a gamble-
Painful even
But this time I am demanding to see the king
Whatever
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

My father sits in his lazy boy chair
Next to his wife
He has boots he wears for circulation
She has one breast and diabetes

They share the grand slam breakfast at Denny’s
They like Wendy’s
Taco Bell, McDonald’s
I would die there
Looking around I thought how does someone leave here?
Why does anyone live here?

I sent them vitamins yesterday
I don’t know what else to do
I guess I do know how to be a daughter after all
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
