bombastic bard, the dude
on his birthday
wants to sing a song for the age,
ironic wordsmith
recalls the occupation
of the ethereal visitors
harm never meant in any way,
his time these last sixty nine...
his life is swinging
from a cosmic fishing pole
he explores the depths
of the river bed's mind
and he does have opinions
and he does set out a bowl
of cream for the mystery feline
to lap up with her sandpaper tongue,
there in lies the rub of the pun
softness abutting the grit
tenderness in bed with porcupines
yin yang ramma lamma ding dong
the unlikely twins in life skipping
down the gravel road, stones shooting
up into the air, into his face to remind him
he's still here, another candle for the absurd cake
I'm still digging the sunshine in the woods
as I hum my heavy metal lullaby
humming a heavy metal lullaby
humming a heavy metal lullaby
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading
Re: humming a heavy metal lullaby
as long as you can see
and I mean really see...
absorb...
take it in...
(take heed of sherlock:
"you see, watson,
but you do not observe"...)
when you observe
you are alive
a throbbing pulsing part
of this biosphere
all things connected
channeling each other's chi
sharing in the common miracle
of consciousness...
happy birthday, dude
