Can anybody or anything guarantee
that the “recuerdos no nos hagan mal”
like Goyeneche used to chant?
Like two strangers
like two well known
like the inevitable paths of the heart
(I just listened to a young couple en vivo on the radio sang this old tango, I never put attention on the lyrics, but one line make me stop a while)

do not make us bad memories
do not make us bad memories
the tango is the language of love
it's interpretive like hula
you can say I ain't ever gonna fall in love again
until you do

"memories do not hurt us"
There is an old English saying that goes:
"sticks and stones may break my bones
but words will never hurt me"
Are the memories we hold based upon words. Or do words create our memories..?
Quien sabe? I have no quick answers to my own questions... jaja!
It does me good to see you're still connected here. I trust all is well with you, mi amiga.

hola Cecil, no idea...! Maybe all is words or/and language, maybe not...

But memories for sure have the power to make us wonder about it...!
the tango is the language of love is it? the dance can be like doing tai chi embraced with another, but the lyrics mostly are like an always available knife...
(Yesterday I could enjoy Les Eslovacs performing Journey Home... still fascinated!!!)
gracias for reading, friends!

I want to know more about Goyaneche...! let me know if you find references Terri, please...!!
The lyrics of "Como dos extraños" are by Contursi, it seems he wrote several cabarets stories.
Les Slovaks are about to separate after ten years of performance, so I imagine we saw here their last shows. I saw two years ago (not sure if "saw" is the proper word to Milan Herich doing his solo performance in teatro Lavardén, also an amazing experience!. For what he does with his body he could be an extraterrestrial for me...! another reality!!!!!!!
