Days of Cherry Blossoms & Hamburger Blues

Post by the mingo » March 22nd, 2018, 2:02 pm

she is dressed casually,
lightly,
carries a fan
and fans herself with it
- it must be warm
where she is -

here in the north
it is still cold
even in the sun
the shadows of birds
glide across the snow
and are gone

this kind of thing
brings me sadness
and hunger

I take off my boots
contemplate the holes
in my socks

I pour myself a bourbon
fix me a hamburger
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Gaia is merciless with her storms and storms and storms and another storm.

It's a wonder there are birds flying.

I hope so - at the moment nothing is working right - sometimes these weird angles come down over ya and the best thing to do is not move so that's what I'm doing - not moving - Thx for the read, Wireman -

It's a wonder there is anything but the Amish here are still riding around in their buggies so things must be ok. Thx for the read, Cecil -

cold isn't kind to the aging man and extremes are the new normal
so coping becomes an art...we all need a bag full of tricks...like Felix the Cat

Yesterday afternoon the roads were clear enough to attempt our 1st 3-miler in many weeks - only 3 miles, with some moderate inclines - but I really felt it in my hams. Hoping the NWS is right about next week seeing 50 degrees, so we can lose the rest of this god-damned ice and get back up into the 5-6 mi range again. Gotta believe we're near the end. Made it to the lake this morning.
