amy winehouse

amy winehouse
singing
our day will come
me
plucking the fat strings
a lump in my throat
drinking in
her immense gift
saddened
she left us
wanting more
I can't watch
the videos
when she was too high
to pull it together
when she was booed
in bulgaria
I had to turn it off
at once
settle into her beautiful
side
when things came
together
and her soul
touched her voice
and her voice
touched
my soul

Unfortunately her day did come. Alcohol poisoning this time snatching another young, talented musician and giving them far too much for those talented people to handle as far as fame and success. Age 27 is far too young to leave this life, but the roster continues to grow on that fatal age called in astrology, "The Return of Saturn".

Good piece you've written!

Watching Judy Garland special and thinking, Why must the show go on?
All I can do is honor the work they did in life,
and look into the abyss of my own death
and what it takes to keep me going on Monday mornings
the rationalizations I make to keep on keeping. . .
Big Pharma is my dearest friends these days'

nice version of the "the pusher"...John Kay still going strong
Big Pharma legalized drug pedaling...slick ads...bizarre side effects
but some drugs are necessary, so they got you buy the balls
no different than the guy in the alley
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
