Jack took some shit for hanging around in parts of town "where he didn't belong," but it's been a rough few centuries, I mean, once the barons and bulls got more serious about taking slaves. Of all kinds..

He'd skip school to hangout with jazzmen into the wee hours of the morn and get the feel for Bop.......Horace Mann prep school, where he had to take courses in order to get into Columbia U.

And then he caught that feeling in writing. He wrote in Bop, and some of his jazz scenes were amazing. A literary breakthrough. The jazzmen were looking for freedom too, and seemed to have found it. He certainly had his faults as a writer, but when he was on, he was on...

Jack once flowed like a peaceful river. He should see what we have now!
He'd be part of the chaos and confusion that surrounds us today, the 21stC.

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
