there is something,
and it needs to be said
just don't know what it is....
the kettle is agitated
steamed notes higher than usual

I always rush there,
as if I were preventing
a tnt blast on the side of a mountain
this raucous fever, rocking steel
on a gas burner

Mr. K has had enough
and I agree with him
something has to give, scorching
vapor needs to escape
I'm tellin' ya

something needs to be said

the mind insists
the body the soul
the tongue is silent
the pen is growing tired
moss grows on cells it seems
you pace like a cat in a cage
you feel the geyser below
then nothing
another poem about impotency
you need a new act
you need to go on the road
the woods is the color of
bombastic green

And it IS getting said. And done. Timely metaphor/analogy..

I see my escapes to the woods the same as I see eating well. taking my vitamins, and playing my bass or painting and writing.....a sensible choice

Oh definitely. The power of silence, of separation and return. You never quite see the relentless Big Hustle with the same eyes and ears afterward... Somewhere along the line we got the idea that you can only run a proper economy on non-stop noise ...

small gathering of those who agree to slip away. Each in her/his own direction. A small cave. An island. A bit of land to share with nature.
