ceramic hearts
take the heat
it dissipates, the air
above
long as it can...
the fallen aura
and there ain't enough
tequila, or corks to bite on,
down at the hotel that's on fire
and the bed bugs
are the least of your problems
and you know
this is the big daddy
a blip on an analog screen
ignored, yeah somehow
you know the annuls of history
will list you as a footnote
in a how-to textbook, an example
of what not to do...
hapless fucking humans
fucking the earth in every orifice
from behind
it's rape and murder
"Humans...What a Species !"

of course many of the commoners
love the earth, but somehow weasels
are born like Scott Pruitt ....
men whose blood was replaced with oil
whose pockets were lined with green
and let me tell you...it's the bad green
that green color that twists the eyes
in knots and persuades a once innocent baby
to become a killer.....a rapist
c'mon karma do your job...if not now
when ?
mother earth weeps from the pain
does her best to stem the tide, but
there has to be a reckoning
the bill has come due and the collection agents
have come to repo our time here

where are the Julia Butterfly Hill's ?

Maybe "we get the leadership we deserve" in some ways. If it can be called that. Maybe too many of us are just as sold out as the corporate whores we put in office, who say things like "protecting wilderness is a gross abuse of federal power"... Well holy rock rape Batman, was it a "gross abuse of power" when Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican btw, set aside all that wilderness and created five national parks? What has happened to our basic values?...

We'll look back on the 20thC (if we live long enough!) and wonder what happened to get from there to this dangerous and selfish 21stC that is turning out to be a mean and militant generation so unlike the 20th that is sell-documented in books and films. (books??? anyone read a book lately???)

SAW... good piece you've honed. So much I relate to and agree upon, especially our treatment of the environment! yikes!
