She always had a picture
To show me
Always had to go somewhere
I was all about the toy store
I just wanted more

Maybe if I had not been in tow
I would know
Something about a spare tire
I had to admire my mom

She was never boring
And always interested
In whatever was alluring

Notice this’s
See that
Read this
That Bldg over there

I swear
I was just a kid
She lived on cookies
Coffee

I did not know I was hungry
I just got mad
Just wanted to go home

She felt my leash was too tight
I was a child that could not fight
The things that gave her delight

Over and over it made me uptight
Oh mommy you are so beautiful
I want to go to the toy store
Is that all right?

Sometimes I wish I may I wish I might
Tell you of the stars in my heart
The moon followed us to buy cream in the dark
For coffee

I left a painting I had done of my grandson
She painted him in a cage
We don’t do that in my little family
