distant poet

Post by saw » September 19th, 2018, 12:32 pm

reading his words
the genius born from being
on the outside from day one
a lonely wanderer with a huge
tormented heart and a prophetic urge
to connect...
some people just don't fit
the proverbial round peg
searching far and wide
for a round hole, but all
you find are the god damned squares
the unperceptive zombies
that walk in and out, like
they're walking onto a movie set
the apricot scarf type with fake tans
and extra white teeth that glow in the dark
and they can't see you, even
when you're in their way, and so
you pull out your pen and your junk mail
envelopes to conserve notebook paper, and you
pour it out, again and again, night after night
and the catalog of broken dreams would grow
'tween those moments of brilliant humor
and biting observations, and I'm reading
your life like never before, and I wish you
were still here, so we could make some trouble.
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

or those "This page left blank" sheets the elephantine financial institutions mail out by the metric ton - for scribbled ideas, calculations, or just because I'm a cheap bastard

Quite brilliant- that whole moment when you find that solution
Scribbled on midnight madness

Wonderful piece you've spun for the reader, SAW, and one that does justice to the subject now passed but not to be forgotten.

Excellent!
