When it's dark like this
I sit where I can hear what traffic might pass
in mind or heart or out on the road

sometimes I go out
and be traffic myself

nice 8)
reminded me of what I been missing
I can't hear any trains where I live now.
I miss those trains,
When I lived near the waterfront in Baltimore I could hear the fog horns from ships coming and going.
Lay in bed at night and fall asleep to the sound of those ships

sorry for the ramble
liked your poem

Used to live near a train I knew what time it was
Without a watch
Wanted to put sculptures A long the tracks
More ambitious days

Thx for reading, Jana - I like the idea of those sculptures along the railroad tracks - I used to build sculpture out of stone and driftwood up and down the lake shore here - installations I guess they were which were left to weather and sun and wind - I had a good time with them

My mama was a welder/ sculpture person
There were four other women as well
Each as unusual as the other-
All different types of artists
Totally different styles
There was a foundry
And a sign above that said” cleanliness is next to “godliness, crossed out- IMPOSSIBLE!..
all around with the exception of a walk way were torpedo casing- boat blades- broken saxophone- what some would call junk-
It is not junk. I grew up with plants growing out matel doll mold- headless of corse
Having a nebulous relationship with my mother
Infused with paint
Fire
Clay glaze
Stages
Processing
Paint
Sketch
Draw
Erase
Darken
Lighten
The feeling of progress
When the jackal comes round
I want to be immersed in the creative zone
Where no one but God and the angels can reach me
In the zone
