I like the 99c/dollar stores. Sometimes go there. There's a "backlash" against 'em, I've heard. There are a lot of 'em now, such that they're the main source of food for some poor(er) neighborhoods. As if the dollar stores were the problem, and not myriad other socioeconomic forces ! Sheesh...

Not sure where this world is headed ...

Me too. Got my favorite coffee mug at the Family Dollar, and a non-stick skillet for $7. The skillets are as cheap as the price suggests, and only last maybe a year - so if I live another 25 yrs, that means I'll be shelling out $175 for replacements. On the other hand, a top-line Big Name skillet might run $400. Yeah, I've done the math......
