golden dreams of tomorrow
fall like california ash, the sky
ablaze with the foliage of my anxiety
the moorings torn from the branches
that caress the boundaries of contentment,
the autumn games of novemeber always
dominate the narrative of impending change
I forgot my gloves in my haste to heal
didn't care to turn around, eyes set on
distant trees, the frosty morning forced
my hands into my pockets, your face into
my troubled mind, you keep popping up
little sparks of white light in the eyes
of ogling animals hidden in the brush
the puma stalks my memories, all vanish
in the water at sunset at mallory square
the stained glass fingers of youth now fragile
from accelerating age, the puzzle is missing
one piece....you seem to fit...but need to return
to your former life for awhile....you tell me
you'll be back, and I hope that is true
california dreamin'
california dreamin'
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
