yawn

the yawn stretched
wide open the mouth
so that the eyes
became slits in
a blanket
peeking wistfully
into a dream
awaiting its
messenger
to close the door
to another day
without meaning

when does this march of existence
slow itself down long enough for
our tired and weakened souls,
our over-powered hearts
from exploding into fragments
small enough to feed the vermin
that follows mankind like vultures
following the weakened gazelle
unable to keep up with its family

yawn indeed, sleep overtakes us
as we tire of the talk that has
no echoes to share with like ears
and wonders of living cough up puke
deep from within the nausea of being
we blunder through this planet we destroyed
and plan on our next mission to Mars
to strip whatever we want to buy from
helpless Red Planet spinning in religious rhyme
far, far longer than even our imagination can muster.

I have not yawned for a long time, months and months.

Such a spontaneous involuntary act
I used to love to yawn and sleep

don't mean nothing just a riffin

Hard to maintain any dignity these days
Thanks for the poem 8)

Sweet dreams... The stream goes on.
