The Wormhole Theory

Post by saw » January 28th, 2019, 10:32 am

feeling un-tethered
to the moving earth
I put my hands in the soil

I saw a hundred worms
beneath a blue tarpaulin and a gray concrete paver
I said hello

lowered the square block back down
into it's original place, felt
like a giant without the beanstalk

big fat juicy earthworms
the picture of health as they say,
in a crazy dystopian time

where corporations became people
and refugees from certain death
were treated as an infected pariah

those worms made me feel good
despite the madness of men
wow, invertebrate life was teeming out of sight

and there must be more I reckoned
more determined creatures
living below the things we throw on the ground

trying to lead a robust life in private, hmmmm
maybe the secret to good health and survival
is hiding from humans
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

if not hiding from humans, a weekly avoidance soothes the soul.

we apparently refuse to learn so many lessons from what lies all around us, daily...

Nature has raised every living thing on this planet and has done so very, very successfully.

Humans..?? We balk at the natural... we avoid the goodness of Nature... we ignore Nature's signs and wonder why? why? are we so fucked up?

Thanks for your piece, Steve... it hit the spot!

I am sure Freud was just another old fucking fool like me
And Nietzsche was bat shit crazy when he laid the source of evil at G d's feet

It is sweet to be among people who write poetry, thank you.
but I wonder at the minds of those who treat refugees as infected pariahs.
nothing to do with your poem maybe?

I can't remember who it was that wrote "the worm at the core of consciousness. . ."

I am up to my ass in people, I don't know jack shit about Sartre but I think he knew what hell is...

I can't help but wonder what a picture of health in crazy and dangerously trending dystopian times might look like... Honestly I have no clue.

reread this again for about the tenth time

i put my hands to my head with fingers pressing in trying to connect to the wormhole at the core of my consciousness

Yes, the dirt. Where it began. What we were given. And stars above! A pretty nice gift.
