dark side of the room

Post by saw » January 31st, 2019, 11:29 pm

greetings from the dark room
there's a man sitting without any light
tapping on a beat up keyboard
just like he's done so many times before
something has to be said he claims to no one,
acting like this habit is healthy or something
and all it is...is some crazy compulsion
to exercise the brain, take her out
for a spin when all the crossword puzzles
are done and the bills are paid, the electricity
in the air is visible, and the ideas flow neon blue,
chakras light up in bursts of emotions
it's very late
most normal folks have been sleeping for hours
my circadian rhythm has a peculiar tempo
a spastic metronome rattles my rib cage
sets the pace, writes the agenda
lists the items we'll be talking about tonight
sleep is overrated and I'm long in the fang
so stand back or you'll get hurt,
my elbows are pointy and my tongue has been honed
stropped by leather nights with the green fairy
stay tuned muthafuckers, the old man is just warming up

in a dark time, the eye begins to see
and in a bedlam of sound the ear begins to poke needles into the cerebral cortex

in the noise of a big box store
an old man tries to think
fortunately, he has a high threshold for insanity

I been carpooling to work with Lou Welch
and when I get home have a nice cup of herbal tea and listen to some music imagining John Prine was sitting in my living room or maybe I am sitting in his, doesn't matter, I can hardly hear music, tone deaf, but I feel the vibes on some unconscious level and

bennie used to call me on my random carriage returns, I stopped trying to line this up pretty like a poem, but I ain't got that music thing. so just let the cursor slide across to the end of this line and submit>>>>>>>
SAW:
that was one cool poem, 8) I wish I could do as well, I'm too beat tired tonight sorry

I bet Jack Kerouac wishes he had wrote "dark side of the room"
it has his feel of spontaneous poetry.

makes me want to try too, I don't how you wrote it, but it reads like it was written in one GO

thanks for the poem, cheered me up a lot.

Omyfuckinggod, there's someone else sitting
somewhere or another adjacent, but not even nearly adjacent
and what the fuck can happen now? dark room, horrific
feelings of a tomb, or an otherwise gloomy conjecture.
omyfuckinggod, sorry, i don't want to even pretend
to be giving a lecture.
Fuck that.

But I WILL tell you that my circadian rhythm
is improving. I have longstanding insomnia, for years.
But everything is better now.
I attribute it to CBD.

I should have been a monk
My cistercian rhythm is spastic,

so is my routine
most nights in bed my nine up at 5
every couple of days on some random schedule in the corporate ladder I get a day off, so I turn on and stay up as late as I want to, and get up when the day has warmed up.

insomnia, "is a bitch with an icepick" . someone on litkicks wrote that. ...maybe Jota?

thanx for the poetic responses dear colleagues
yes jack i have been writing to screen a lot lately
sans editing....which does create a few typos, but is satisfyingly raw
and in my mind, what needed to be said at that given time
and doreen yes yes....just got my new shipment of CBD oil
which apparently is legal in all 50 states since the idea
is not to get high ( No or low thc)....but powerful medicine
just the same....after my cancer surgery when my cancer
was so rare I couldn't get into any studies and chemo and radiation
would only boost my success my about 3 %...i instinctively ordered CBD
and i took it for a year and a half,,,,,then took a break....and now
gonna hit it again since the oncology people said at the time this all happened
that there was an 80 % chance it would come back....I'm 2 and a half years out
now and feeling just fine most days....I'm hiking and laughing
and living..................................peace and love................. 8) 8)

I think the hiking with the c b d is a great combo- writing - very cool
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
