fantasy and fresh air

[saw]

her expressionism was impressive
her walk.....modern art
she had this Max Ernst way about her
more cologne than perfume
but I could not be her dada
or anything else
i was too high to intervene
just below the nimbus
looking down from the scaffold
red hat, corduroy overalls
working on the dentals, the cornice
vagabond theater
three stories in the warm air
spring had sprung it's trap
daffodil fever
I was a bald eagle in his aerie
a young carpenter with a great view
the women paraded by
legs and shoulders finally bare
and I made up stories
that suited their attire
surrealism and baloney
I peeled back a slice of bread
to crush my potato chips inside
dreams of romance
pint of chocolate milk
dreams of romance
total strangers
dreams of using my hands
hammers and finishing nails
fantasy, fresh air.
