Let Me Get My Mouth On It

Post by the mingo » February 18th, 2019, 5:43 am

she said
as we flew down the road
in an old Subaru

we stole everything we could
sold what we could
we rolled thru Rome, NY,
in a show

slow smoke on the horizon -
what is that? she said
- it's too early for snow

we laughed then
knowing someday
we would really

be gone

what you say?
with the first leaves
falling

well, then you died.
after you did that
I sometimes touched myself

a kind of ghost dancing
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

a somber review.....sadness and love abound
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Thx saw - freaks me out to think women I once knew are gone-for-good-big-time and some of them been that way for twenty years - for all the foolishness I hear every day thoughts like that let me know where the bears are in what woods and exactly the state of their bowel movements - don't get me wrong, I'm glad to still be alive but I'm full of holes - some days when the wind blows it whistles right thru me - Thx for the read and comment 8)

It's a sexy memory. ... So sorry to hear she's gone... Happens so much, these days. One day my list of those who are gone will be longer than my list of those who are still here (of course, that viewpoint imagines myself surviving a long time longer, and who the hell knows?). My list of here and gone is getting close to even.

Sucks getting older.

Hey, that could be an alternate title... "It sucks!" .. haha! Sorry, funny but not funny. :)

Your truthful piece brought me to our age and time.
It let me to this poem I wrote 18 years ago... timeless

Father Time
who put the
hands between
your legs???

your seconds
never made it
to first

and yet this
spinning around
has made me dizzy
in the chase of
my own tale
to be told

without

time against
the end is near
that we hold so dear
embraced closely
to smother old
mother nature
without your

minute man eye
aimed so intently
at my already realized
brevity... i sing

songs of joy
songs of blues
what's it to you
if i sing flat
or sharp, you've
got the key

to unlock my
life and put
it away
some day
you say?

don't tell me
now
because i can't
take it
