July in Tucson, smooth hurt of heat,
radio crackling, I'm stranded awhile.
Radicals bombed a London subway.
That's what radicals do sometimes.
They bomb, try to scramble atoms.
Cosmos is unimaginable space
stretched out between atoms.

Still remember that day. End of a very long road trip. I was a little weary. Anger and heat everywhere. The world would never be anything but anger and heat..
