On the Other Side of the Door

Post by theirishsea » March 21st, 2019, 3:30 pm

terribly
totally
tired

this is an exercise to get me out of the cellar
this is a knocking on the door
you can't hear because my knuckle is hollow
I'm collapsing to the floor
no, wait
I'm holding on to the knob
haven't fallen down the stairs

you can't hear me because it is raining
I can't compete
I'm stuck in the musty smell of my thoughts
look
they are curdling
so much spoiling milk

I'm sitting now
back to the door
don't know what to do with my dreams
but enter them again
I will sleep
snore

maybe that is a better life
than hearing the clock tick
the rain fall
the door not budge
dinner's vapors taunting
as they seep through the cracks
The Irish Sea Is Always In Turmoil, Even When Calm.

I’m pretty sure
That what lies on the other side of the door is a place worth protecting-
Maybe even sacred-
I wanted love- I got spiritual because I could not
Understand loves dangerous allure
Couldn’t see through the blur
Of what I really felt love should be
Found out it began with me
Sometimes I would slam it shut
And act and react like a total slut
Only love can do that to you
I had such highs and lows- babies born and taken to Africa
I could not see my feet - my head was so big

I liked it
The madonna/ whore complex presentation
Left me free to experience temptation
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

an eloquent picture of ennui
and the questions we all seem to have
about whether there is something better

well done....convincing
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
