little known dylan song

Post by saw » May 11th, 2019, 9:55 am

the blade taps the board
the fruit does not resist
it divides for me in sweet compliance,
and I covet the pieces
the black-crimson berries
the sea-foam melon
the essential palette....
the art of refreshment
comes to those who dare to dream

and there are many ways to refresh,
to honor the state of mind
that welcomes the juicy arts

the blade is sharp
the liquid sugar oozes out,
across the hardwood block
over the sections of oak and walnut stripes
slow motion pictures emerge
of glorious colors tossed
into the air to gently come
to rest in a patterned ceramic bowl
this splendorous pile of texture, hue, and dynamics

nestled inside that pottery frame that outlines new explosions of the rainbow
bad-ass banana, paradise peach, gang buster grape
terrific tangerine

oddly i hear dylan's nasal voice singing
as if only for me in this time and space,
it's a new version of a familiar song
"Hey Mr. Tangerine Man,
play a song for me
in the jingle jangle mornin'
I'll come slice fruit with you...."
it seems I may have unwittingly become a performance artist.....
a mouse runs across the floor

less than thrilled with my imagination
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Nice. I get those kind of odd snippets too in the soundtrack of my head at times, and they make perfect sense ...

Great beginning, fine middle and one hell of an ending.
You knocked this one outta the park, Steve. Bingo!

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
